Looking for an exciting way to show off your relationship with your horse?

Join the SunKissed Starrez Equestrian Drill Team! A sport that combines dressage, rodeo, reining and team work to create something beautiful, how is that not exciting? Imagine being under bright lights, you and your horse shinning like a star in front of a huge crowd showing off how awesome you guys are! There are anywhere between 4 and 12 riders who will ride at various events and exhibitions and do just that. We would even like to work toward being a professional paid team in a couple of years! Experienced horse and rider combinations allow for safe rides and more progress for the group as a whole. This team is an audition team. If you and your horse do not meet the requirements you are welcome to come to practice and work towards being an understudy and progress to be on the team when you are able. You must also take lessons here at the barn to help improve your skills.  There are two teams each with different requirements:

The Adult Pro Team (ages 18 and up)

Requirements for the adult pro team are that you and your horse can adequately complete a horsemanship pattern. You must be able to safely and under control walk, trot, and canter. You must know how to sit and post a trot, direct and neck rein your horse, be able to ask for correct leads and your horse must know them. You must know simple lead changes and be able to gallop, stop, and back. Your horse must be safe and get along with others. NO bucking, kicking, biting or rearing. If this happens more than once you and your horse will be demoted to understudy until you are safe to work with.

Your horse will also need to learn roll backs, pivots, hard stops, and to carry a flag.

The Youth "Starrelet" Team (ages 8-18)
